Two ways to buy. We'll price it either way to suit your need.

How To Buy
Two ways to get your building built
Some owners have nothing but a site. Others have a building already on order. We quote both.
Building Types
What we build
We engineer each frame for the span, eave height and loads at your site.
Shops
and Garages
Door openings sized for what drives through them, ceiling height for a lift, floor drains, compressed air and three-phase power.
Contractor and
Equipment Storage
Drive-through bays, doors sized for the machine with the attachment on, slab poured for tracked equipment, wash bay and secured yard.
Warehouse
and Distribution
Clear span for racking, eave height for the stack, dock doors and levelers, slab flat enough for lift traffic.
Equestrian
Arenas
Clear span with no interior columns. Base and footing built for riding, plus ventilation and arena lighting.
Farm, Ranch,
and Ag
Equipment and commodity storage, livestock buildings, machine sheds, shop combinations. Engineered steel frame construction.
Light
Manufacturing
Crane loads engineered into the frame, three-phase service, compressed air, floor loading rated for the machines.
Flex
Space
Demised suites with separate entries, metering and restrooms. Units can be combined or split as tenants change.
Office
and Showroom
Finished front with storefront glass and insulated wall panel, working space behind it.
Self-Performed Scope
We self-perform steel, concrete and electrical
Our own crews build the three biggest and most demanding parts of the job: the foundation, the frame and the electrical.
01
Steel Erection
Our own crew sets the frame. We erect packages from any manufacturer.
02
Concrete
Footings, foundations, slab and flatwork. Poured to the approved anchor bolt layout and the floor flatness your equipment needs.
03
Electrical
Service, distribution, high-bay lighting, and low-voltage. We begin Evergy coordination as soon as we're engaged to protect your timeline. On a metal building today the switchgear is often a longer lead than the steel.

Retrofit & Renovation
Give new life to old structures
The roof leaks. The panel is undersized. The office was laid out for a company that moved out in 1998. Owners call us about all three.
We gut interiors and rebuild office space, upgrade power, add mezzanines and dock equipment, and re-skin exteriors.

FAQS
Common Questions
Cost is driven by four things: clear span, eave height, the snow and wind loads the frame has to carry, and how much of the interior you finish. A bare shell on a flat site sits at the low end. The same building with a finished office, upgraded power and dock equipment will run more. Send us the site address, the square footage and what goes inside, and we will price it.
Yes. We are not tied to one manufacturer. If you already have a package on order or a supplier relationship you want to keep, we handle the foundation, slab, steel erection, electrical, the finish-out, and we coordinate the delivery with your manufacturer.
The schedule breaks into design and engineering, permit, steel fabrication and delivery, foundation, steel erection, and finish-out. Steel fabrication is usually the long lead item, and electrical switchgear can impact lead times. Foundation work happens while the steel manufacturing and electrical order lead times are in-motion, so those run in parallel.
We pour it. Concrete is a self-performed scope at Capital Builders. The foundation is designed to the approved anchor bolt layout, and we do not pour until those shop drawings are approved.
Yes, we self-perform electrical. Service and distribution, lighting and low-voltage. We start Evergy coordination as soon as we engage.
Loads are set by ASCE 7 and the building code adopted by your jurisdiction, and they vary across the metro. We confirm the requirement before anyone prices steel.
Yes. Entitlement and municipal approvals are part of our pre-construction work. Zoning and use approval, site plan review and permit submittal. Review timelines differ by jurisdiction, so we put the real number in your schedule instead of an average.
Yes. We extensive experience with interior gut and office rebuild, power upgrades, mezzanines, dock equipment, re-skin and roof.
Yes, and a standing seam roof is one of the better commercial surfaces for it. Panels attach with seam clamps, so the roof is never penetrated and the roof warranty stays intact. If solar is anywhere in your plan, tell us before the frame is engineered. We add the collateral load to the frame, plan the conduit path, and size the electrical room for the inverter and disconnect.
Yes, we build shop and storage buildings for contractors. A contractor building is more than a bigger version of a shop. The doors get sized for the largest machine with the attachment still on it, the slab gets poured for tracked equipment and loaded tandems, and the yard, gate and turning radius matter as much as the building. Tell us your specific needs, what has to fit inside and what has to park outside, and we design to your requirements.
We build everything from shops, warehouses and arenas to flex buildings and light manufacturing. Send us the square footage that meets your needs and we will tell you if it is a fit.
